The tradition of the Olympic Truce dates back to the 9th century BC, in Ancient Greece.

Olympic Truce was  announced before and during the Olympic Games to ensure the host city. It was not attacked and athletes and spectators could travel safely to the Games and peacefully return to their respective countries.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided to revive this ancient concept.

In 1998, the International Olympic Committee renewed this tradition .

The vision was to protect the interests of athletes and sport, and to promote peaceful principles in modern day.

The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution calling for a peaceful passage of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in South Korea.

The resolution expresses a commitment to "building a peaceful and better world through sport and the olympic ideal“.

All 193 UN member states including North Korea passed the resolution. 

올림픽 휴전 협동의 전통은 고대 그리스인  기원전 9 세기로 거슬러 올라갑니다.
"휴전"(고대 그리스어 : "무기 내려 놓기"를 뜻함)는 개최 도시 국가 (Elis)를  지키기 위해 올림픽 게임 전과 도중 발표되었습니다.
그것은 공격 당하지 않고 선수들과 관중들이 안전하게 시합하고 여행 할 수 있었고 평화롭게 그들 각각의 나라로 돌아갈 수 있었습니다.
국제 올림픽위원회 (IOC)는이 고대 개념을 부활 시키기로 결정했다.
1998 년 국제 올림픽위원회 (International Olympic Committee)는이 전통을 새롭게 했습니다.
비전은 운동 선수와 스포츠의 이익을 보호하고 현대의 평화적 원칙을 촉진하는 것이었습니다.
유엔 총회는 2018 평창 동계 올림픽이 한국에서 평화적으로 통과 될 것을 촉구하는 결의안을 채택했습니다.
이 결의안은 "스포츠와 올림픽 이상을 통해 평화롭고 나은 세상을 건설하는"노력을 표명했습니다.
북한을 포함한 193개 유엔 회원국 모두가 이 결의안을 통과시켰습니다.
